SUMMARY:Summer Sew for Kids 1 (4 Weeks)
DESCRIPTION:4 Consecutive Friday mornings-July 12\, 19\, 26 and August 2 @ 10 am This is a repeat of projects from our projects from Beginner Summer Sew for Kids that was offered in the summer of 2023. Summer Sew for Kids 2 will offer all new projects for those who attended last year\, but you do not have to take Summer Sew for Kids 1 to take Summer Sew for kids 2. Our Summer Sew for Kids a great way to get your kid (ages 8+) learning sewing in a creative environment where they will learn all the basics as well as be challenged in problem solving. Our curriculum for the class includes fun to make and easy to be proud of projects to take home. We supply everything for the first session and will send home a (very minimal) supply list for the remaining classes. All students are required to take our one-time prerequisite class\, Introduction to Sewing\, before the session they are registered for begins.  If your child already knows how to sew\, or has taken a previous class at the Studio\, please call 636-317-1117. Please make sure your child is able to attend all dates listed above before registering. Session will not be prorated for missed classes.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Sewing
DESCRIPTION:This course is a prerequisite for students who take any other sewing class. In this course you will become familiar with a Sewing Machine and how to use one. You will learn the skills that you need to take the kids/adult classes offered\, including winding the bobbin\, using guides\, zig zag and other fancy stitches and also troubleshoot when things do not work as expected. We will supply everything you need for this class\, including the sewing machine.

SUMMARY:Learn to Quilt (3 non-consecutive weeks)
DESCRIPTION:3 nonconsecutive Thursday Evenings starting July 18 This class is best suited for a confident beginner sewist that would like to learn how to make quilts. The Sierra Snow 3-yard quilt is very beginner friendly and uses a variety of techniques that will help you start your quilting journey. This class is led by Theresa\, a very accomplished quilter and instructor. July 18-5-7 PM You need not bring anything to this class. You will receive guidance on fabric selection during this session. Your pattern will be provided.\n\nAugust 1-5-7 PM You will supply your fabric and thread for this session as we will learn cutting techniques and begin to sew. You can bring your machine or use ours. Some of the sewing you will complete at home\, or you may sew in the Studio this week using our machines on a day that there are not scheduled classes if you do not own a machine.\n\nAugust 15-5-7 PM Learn about borders\, bindings and finishing your quilt.You will have the option to schedule a private class to quilt your project on the long arm quilting machine for an additional charge.
