Beginner Quilting (Rail Fence)
2 Saturday Morning Classes. March 14th and 28th

Session 1:
Saturday March 14 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
This class is best suited for a beginning quilter that wishes to start at the very beginning. You don’t need to bring anything to this first class—just yourself! This session is all about building a strong foundation. We’ll cover:
- Types of quilts and quilt construction
- Batting options and how to choose the right one
- Thread types and uses
- Fabric selection, color coordination, and cutting guidance
There will be time between the first and second class for you to get your fabric cut. If you would like extra guidance and don’t feel comfortable cutting at home, we’re happy to arrange time for you to cut your fabric in the Studio with an instructor.
Session 2:
Saturday March 21 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
For this session, you’ll bring your cut fabric and thread as we begin sewing your quilt top. You may bring your own sewing machine or use one of ours.
During this class, you will:
- Start assembling your quilt top and possibly finish the assembly
- Gain the confidence to finish the quilt top at home
- Learn about quilt finishing and binding techniques
If you do not own a sewing machine, you are welcome to continue sewing in the Studio during the week (on days without scheduled classes) using our machines.
Optional Add-On
Students will have the option to schedule a private long-arm quilting session to quilt their project on our long-arm machine for an additional charge.
